The Tibetan Mastiff is an ancient breed, renowned for its imposing size and protective nature, standing at least 24 inches tall at the shoulder. They possess a thick, double coat that can be black, brown, blue-gray, or gold, requiring regular grooming, especially during shedding season. Originally bred to guard monasteries and livestock in the Himalayas, they are dignified, calm, and loyal. Despite their reserved nature, they are deeply devoted to their families. Tibetan Mastiffs need ample space and are best suited for colder climates.
